Mayumi Shimizu
Real Estate Specialist in Seattle, Bellevue and the surrounding areas
Mayumi was born and raised in Tochigi Prefecture, Japan. Since moving to the U.S. in 1989, she has resided in Seattle. She earned BFA in Graphic Design at Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle. She worked as a graphic designer at a design office until 2004, when she made a career change to follow her passion in all things real estate, such as involvement in the home buying/selling process, searching for homes, staging homes, learning about building components, investment, and more, and became a real estate agent. Her custom marketing pieces to showcase her listings are created by herself using graphic design skills.
Mayumi's personal life:
Mayumi's family consists of her husband, Glenn, from Hawaii; a daughter who just graduated from college; Bella (a 5-lbs chorky), who thinks everyone is beneath her (and maybe that's true); and Zephyr (a miniature poodle) who is only 3-years old and is the happiest thing on the planet.
Mayumi and Glenn both have a background in Arts, so it's natural for them to go to museums and galleries at least twice a month and to a theater of all sizes once a month, and their daughter grew up experiencing them thinking that's what most families do on their off days. Aside from collecting art pieces from local artists, Mayumi loves to paint on canvas/board, too. Her favorite medium is acrylic for its ease of care and handling. She can supplement her staged homes with her paintings as needed, as sometimes it's hard to find the right wall art to compliment the room, and she can quickly create just the right one. Lastly, Mayumi loves vintage items, especially kitchen goods from 1930~1950 and clothing from 1950~1960. She can spend hours strolling through the town of Snohomish looking at the vintage things, but that's another story... |
